Luteal Phase length

I was reading below someone saying they have a short Luteal phase. Sorry if this is a dumb question but I can not find the answer anywhere, how long should it be? Mine was just 11 days and started to spot on the 11th. Now my AF days are 2 then nothing and possible light tomorrow. Anyway how long is the luteal Phase supposed to be?

    Anything 10 days or over is just fine usually.

    Kristin have you read "Taking Charge of Your Fertility"? if not, I highly recommend that you do. it's very enlightening!

    According to that book, and like Cathy said, a luteal phase needs to be at least 10 days long in order for an embryo to be able to implant. most women have a LP between 12-16 days.

    Guess if this month is unsuccessful, I will probably check the infertility people and see whats next. I will also pick up the book today or tomorrow. Thanks
