This is just nuts. What do you think?

Re: This is just nuts. What do you think?

  • Well, I'm not extremely religious, but I would be rippin' pissed if my kid had to undergo a psychological evaluation for that.

    Ridiculous, if you ask me.

  • Read the article on Boston.com - it has better info.

The dad told the media that the children were asked to draw something "that made them think of Christmas". The kid drew the picture and the school suspended the child. The dad is now doing a zillion interviews and saying the school district "owes them a lump sum" of $.

In actuality...there was no project/request to have the kids draw something "about Christmas". The kid drew the picture on his own and told his teacher that HE was on the cross. The teacher was concerned about that and brought it up to the school psychologist. .The child was NOT suspended. The dad made that up and is a nut job who wants money.

  • Wonder what they would think of my child's "gliding Jesus action figure?

I don't get how violent pictures are violent.  Violent actions toward animals, sure, but horrible art?  No correlation between that and bad behavior.

  • That is completely ridiculous. Poor kid.

  • We tjust took the kids to Lasalette Shrine and there is a huge cross just like that there so I believe he was just drawing what he saw.  I believe the truth is somewhere in the middle.  I don't totally believe the dad but I don't totally believe the school either.  IMO the school went over board

  • Well that article is a little misleading or off or something. They show a picture but it isn't the one he drew. The school said he wasn't suspended but he had to leave school for days for a psch eval? Is that normal protocol? I would guess the original picture was much more worrisome to deserve a psych eval but it seems like the school overreacted just the same.
