Inspired by the evil gynecologist in the pp, tell us your worst gyno stories.
Mine was that I had an abnormal pap, so I went to see my mom's gyno instead of the one at the college health center. When she walked in she said, so you're here for your cancer? I was like, what? She said, yeah your precancerous cells. She then proceeded to tell me that I had HPV. When I told her I was still a virgin she told me, "Well I know how college girls are, you probably just don't remember it." (btw, I went to another doctor and never tested "positive" for HPV ever again)
I ran out crying (I was only 18). worst bedside manner ever!

Omg!! I can't believe she did that!!
I never had a bad experience... but my sister had to change her gyno because after one of her appts... the doctor asked her out to dinner!! That freaked her out and she never went back.
When my CD3 bloodtest results came back she referred me to an RE because I had low estrogen. She gave me a list of RE's she recommended that included adoption agencies. I bawled the whole way home thinking that I had no hope.
Turns out my estrogen being low is a good thing.
Idiot.
OMG that is horrifying! I'm so sorry that happened.
I haven't had any bad experiences...yet.

::giggle:: That's kinda funny actually.
One appointment I farted really loudly as soon as I put my legs in the stirrups. She goes "oh, that happens all the time.." but she looked pretty disgusted.

My old gyno was ancient and looked exactly like Dr. Ruth. Once when I went to see her, she said, "Let's see what we've got here" right as she was about to inspect my lady parts.
It's not that bad of a story but it made me really uncomfortable!
I'm sorry. This makes me really laugh.

About 6 years ago, I was diagnosed with stage 1 cervical cancer.. the Dr who confirmed the results for me was the worst ever. She told me tht i would have to have a hysterectomy and maybe chemo and she laughed. she giggled and said well the good news is blah blah blah ( I dont remember the good news) but the bad news is you have cancer.. and she giggled..I couldnt even speak. I just ran to my car and bawled.. anyway I was sent to a specialist who was wonderful and told me i did not have to have chemo, or hysterectomy and could still very much have more children!
Worst experience: I hadn't had a period for several months after coming off of hormonal birth control and using a copper IUD. After running tests, etc., her reply was, "Well, maybe it's just because you're overweight..."
Fast forward to getting a new OB/GYN: The symptoms and low progesterone levels in my bloodwork showed I had PCOS. He requested the labs I'd had done from the previous OB/GYN, which "screamed" the same thing (his wording).
It's not bad in terms of embarrassment, but pretty bad that she couldn't make a proper medical diagnosis.
Oy.. always afraid I'll do something like that. I'm sure it happens, but you never want it to be you!
WTF??? That is terrible!
I was referred to a gyno from my internist. Little did I know that the gyno was a "teaching hospital." I am up in the stirrups for all to see, when all did come in and see. I am NOT joking....my doctor came in with the nurse, her resident, and several medical students. I immediately switched my network of doctors to a non-teaching group.
That's my worst fear!
Back in college, I developed a rash shortly after AF one month. Went to the Dr. who upon looking asked "Do you use Always pads?" When I said yes, she said that she'd heard a story that ppl with sensitive skin could have moisture sucked out by the new absorbant covering.
I was relieved that it was nothing, but she leaves me there for a few minutes just looking at me, making statments like, "Wow, I can actually make out the shape of the pad", "I've never seen this before", "I wish this were a teaching hospital, so med students could see this" and my personal favorite: "I wish I had my camera"!!!!
All I could think was "Please let me put my pants on and go home"
