I went to my OB/GYN first.  They started me on meds, but recommended I see a family doctor next.  I just had my apointment with the family doctor a week ago.  He ordered blood work and recommended a psychologist to me.  I will hopefully make that appointment next week.

I called the OB since they see a LOT of this obviously, my regular doctor doesn't see as many cases of PPD and that's why I called the OB first.

family doc. Either one can help you though. If you don't feel comfortable with the response you get from one, try the other.

actually my daughter's pedi is the one that first started treating me.

I called my OB and they got me in right way. My OB then sent me over to the ER to be admitted. I had an extreme case though so they wanted to monitor me on meds and have me meet with a psych.
