Upstate NY Babies

Is it wrong that I laugh?

We are starting some separation anxiety.....I leave the room and he cries. I walk back in and he stops.....it is pretty funny. He flipped out Sunday at my dads. My step mom was holding him and I walked out of the room. My dad and dh were still there....but that didn't matter!

I kind if like it for now, my baby loves me so much! I am sure it could get annoying pretty quick though! He even started it last night while dh had him, I went to run his bath and the water works started when I left the room!

  • Awe, he loves his Mommy!!!  Enjoy it as long as you can.

Play peek-a-boo with him!!  It will help him understand that just because he can't see you, it doesn't mean you are gone forever.

  • Justin is very slow to warm to people. It's something that started around 4 mths for us and I still struggle with. He loves people when I'm around but as soon as I leave... it's tears.  He is getting much better now that he walks. I used to get self conscious/embarrassed that he would cry & cling so much. Now I figure, I'll enjoy it while I can.

This is Bri exactly!  She is just starting to get better, but will still scream when people say HI to her and she can't see me, even if I am holding her!  I read up on it, but it seems there isn't much we can do.  Ty didn't go through even the tiniest bit of sep. anxiety.  Just goes to show that it isn't our 'fault'

  • Regan has just started this too.  She starts screeching if I walk out of the room for a second.  It was kinda cute when it started, but now it's old hat.  As log as she is playing with something, and doesn't watch me walk out of the room, she's ok.  I  love the fact that I'm "needed", but I hope it doesn't last too long.
