If you've ever planted an amaryllis flower

my mom gave me one of those Smith and Hawken amaryllis flowers from Target for Hannuka and I have NO idea how to plant it. The only instructions that came with it are for the peat soil disk.  So fine, I have that taken care of, but how far down to I put the bulb into the soil?  Should it be completely covered, or should the shoots that are starting to come out of the bulb be exposed?

Who sells a plant without instructions?!

  • oh,erm, nevermind.  I just found the instructions right on the packaging.  Where I'd looked 2 times already.  I'm super on top of things right now.
  • Shoots covered, bulb about halfway buried.
