DD wants a scooter - recs ?

FIL will buy it if we tell him she wants it.

what does one look for in a scooter for an almost 4 year old ?  (aside from padded sidewalks and training wheels....)

I think this is the one MIL got for DS for xmas. We havn't tried it out yet, but he rides the 3-wheel scooters at school all the time and LOVES them.

On a side note, daycare doesn't make them wear helmet & pads when they ride these things. But we're getting them for him for riding them here.

DD has the three wheel radio flyer one, I'm not sure if I like it or not?

DD has the one that the PP posted (but in princess) and she loves it.  The ones with the two wheels in the front are even more stable, imo.

The radio flyer one or we just got dd the princess 3 wheel one from Target that has been on sale.  Looks cute and is a good size put together.  they also have tinkerbell

DS is getting the mini kick one Winery posted for Christmas. A lot of his friends have them and like it a lot.

We have this one in blue and it turns by the child leaning to the right or left. 

My DD#1 has one just like this (only blue) & it is a GREAT first scooter!  She has worn that thing out & it's very stable & easy to ride.  She's ridden it very well from the time she was 2.5 on.  That price is outrageous though...I am sure you can get a very similar thing for like $30.  

DD#2 has the one like the spiderman one someone posted but in Princess.  That thing sucks compared to DD#1's.  DD#2 is almost 3 & cannot really ride it at all.  It's way too big & hard to steer for her.  Maybe it'd work better for a 4-5yr old.  

DD#1 got a Razor scooter for her 5th Birthday--it is much harder to balance/ride but she can do it.  I love how it folds up & is all metal.  But it's definitely not a 1st scooter IMO.
