Dog peeing on Christmas tree!

I just discovered my Christmas tree skirt soaking with urine. Presents are soaked. I am beyond angry and frustrated. He is a 4 year old Lab that has been housebroken forever and neutered. This is the first year that we've put up a tree since the dog. With that, plus his muddy, muddy paws due to the rain outside I am at my wits end. I can't even get things cleaned because the baby is needing to nurse frequently.

My husband is on-call at the hospital, so that means he left at 7am this morning and won't be home until tomorrow afternoon. I could really use an extra set of hands to get a little sanity and clean up all this mess.

Worst of all, a couple of his female coworkers over heard the conversation and I could hear them cracking up. Pretty rude in my opinion!

Re: Dog peeing on Christmas tree!

  • I feel your pain. My formerly housebroken has shiit under the tree at least 4 times so far and has eaten no less than 5 ornaments. I'm refusing to put presents under the tree until the day before Christmas to prevent the dog from peeing on them or eating them.

  • First off...bad doggy! Second, I'm sorry that you got snickered at, I hope your day improves and you have a good week. Dog urine is no fun to deal with, on top of baby "duty".
  • Please don't be to upset at your dog. Dogs are used to peeing on trees, that is what dogs do. Their is bitter apple spray that u can put on ur tree skirt but remember to keep little fingers as well as ours away (it taste nasty). I scolded my dog once very strongly and was sure to allow him extra time outside throughout the day and that broke the urge for him to "decorate" the tree. Good luck in ur venture
