? from 3rd tri re: contractions

I was sent to L&D on Thursday by my OB after my appointment. They kept me for 5 hours and sent me home. I was 3cm, 60% effaced and baby is at 0 station. I've been having contractions since then, but not timeable.

Some of my contractions are super uncomfortable, but really just make me have an insane amount of vaginal/rectal pressure rather than actual pain. Some of them do actually hurt though. Are the ones that cause pressure even real contractions? Did you have this?

i had an ob visit thursday & was 3cm ... had contractions sunday night (3 days later). Then went to l&d monday morning & was 4cm and they admitted me in & had my baby that day. Maybe you have dialated more since Thursday? How many cm do you have to be for them to admit you & keep u at the hospital?.. I think your getting close. GL!

I have no idea how far dilated I need to be in order to be admitted, good question! If I make it to my next appointment (on Thursday, hopefully I don't!) I'll ask. I was just surprised to be sent home since my OB was the one who sent me in. I was super bummed too, because I called DH, who came home from work, and used a vacation day.

The pressure is likely the baby moving further down in the birth canal. So, yes, they are real contractions. GL!!

yes they are real. I didn't feel that pressure until I got my epidural though. I think I was too distracted by the back labor I was having before I got comfortable with the epi.
