Making food question - Pears specifically

So, I'm going to make my own food for my LO for the first time and Im using pears (they were on sale) .  I looked at wholesomefood website and it says to remove the skin and thats about it.  Im guessing puree?  And do I really need to add water?  It seems like a watery fruit.  And I have four pears, so I was planning on freezing them...Is it literally that simple?  I was going to use a ice tray and once frozen..put into freezer bags...This is right?  I just dont want to mess up my first time!  Thanks SO much for any advice!

  • It is that simple. It's actually ridiculous, Peel them, cut them into pieces. Put them in a pot, a splash of AJ or water, (a splash of vanilla or even a dash cinnamon if you want).  Simmer til they're soft and puree or mash depending on what your LO eats.

  • I cut them into small pieces after peeling then steam them. I use the water leftover from steaming (lots of nutrients in the water) them to get the right texture and then through them in ice cube trays for the freezer. I haven't started solids yet but am working on a supply.
