What size is your 14 month old wearing?

I want to get a gift of clothing and possible a winter hat and some mittens for a friend's baby and she's 14 months currently.  I only have a two month old, and I'm not sure how the sizing works as far as over 12 months with the T's in it and such (2t, 3t).  Please help.  Thanks!

Most Toddler's don't get into the T's until they are 2+.

Tristen is 14 months and wears 12-18 mo.

DS is a peanut and wears 12 month clothes, sometimes even 9 month old clothes.

I know this isn't the most helpful answer but "it depends."  Do you know if your friend's kid is big or small for their age?  DD is in the 25th %tile for weight and 95th for height so she's a long, lean kid.  At 14 months she was usually in 12-18 month sizes but it depends on the brand. 

Usually 2T roughly = 24 months.

depends on the brand, but mostly 12-18.  in gap, he needs 18-24 because the pants are short on him.

I would call and ask what size she is wearing. DS was wearing 18 month or 12-18 month size mostly. However, he has a long torso and was wearing 18-24 month in some shirts.

It really does depend.  My 15.5 month old, still wears 12 month size and is only just moving into 18 month for certain types of clothes.   I'd say stick to 12-18 month range and definitely include  gift receipt in case she needs to exchange!

Um yeah, I agree.  That is why I said "most"  not all.  .  My niece has been in 2T since she was 1 but she isn't the NORM.  She is off the charts in everything, she's over 2 now and in 3T.  

DS is 27lbs and 31 inches.  He has to wear 12-18 or 18 in pants because they are too short, but they also have to be adjustable because then they can be too big the waist.  He also has some onesies that are 6-9 months he can wear.  So it really depends on the Child and the clothing brand.

DD was wearing 12 mo size at 14 mo (and she is still in 12 mo size).

My niece was in either 18 mo or 24 mo at 14 mo.

I am just bustin chops i wish my kid wore "normal" size clothes for his age hes cost us a fortune in clothes.  We never expected him to grow this big.  Hes 37 lbs and 37 1/2 inches

DD is almost 15 months and can no longer fit her 6-12 month stuff is mainly in 12-18 and some 18-24.

DS wears mostly 12-18 months. Some shirts he wears 18-24 because sometimes the 12-18 shirts are too short.

Just as I thought you have a wide range of answers. Our DD is in 6-12 months or 9-12 months. It sucks because I pre-bought last year and now have a closet full of things I fear she may not ever wear

I would probably go with an average size of 12-18 months unless you know the child runs extremely small or large for a fact. Like pp said also be sure to include a gift receipt just to be sure!

Thanks ladies!  I'm going to go with the advice on calling and asking what size she is.   I should've known, but was trying to make it a surprise.
