NPR- what to make with lasagna

Christmas eve we are all getting together at my SIL and BIL's house to exchange presents, SIL is making lasagna and garlic bread, I would like to make something and take along, but I'm not sure what, any ideas?? I usually make a salad to go with lasagna, but DH and I are the only "salad eaters" that will be there.

  • I usually do salad too!  How about green beans with slivered almonds?

  • Meatballs?  We are doing baked ziti on Christmas Eve and my mom is bringing meatballs.  If you were thinking an appetizer what about fress mozzarella with tomatoes?

  • Roasted veggies?

Stuff like zucchini, onions, peppers, cherry tomatoes, etc to stick with the Italian theme. Toss with garlic and olive oil, and maybe a little thyme.

  • Well, I was going to say bring a nice green salad, but I guess that's out. Hmm, what about a fruit salad? I'm not sure which fruits are in season right now, but that sounds like something people would eat.
  • How about you bring Tiramisu for dessert?  Lasagna is sort of a stand alone dish unless it's salad.  Or you're my family and treat it as an appetizer.
