Anyone here done this? Its a PITA right?
I had super high BP at my appt this morning... 141/102, but i've been taking it at home and it averages 115/80's.
The nurse took it again at the end of appt and she siad it was 102/62 which i have never seen the bottom number so low before.
My doc consulted with a neo-natologist(sp?) and called me back, now wants to put me on a low dose BP reducer medication, and i have to do a 24 hr urine collection on Monday.
I've never had to do this before... but from what i googled, looks like a PITA and i was wondering if you went to work while doing this? I can't imagine lugging my urine jug into the bathroom at work (multi-stalls) and keeping it cool in the fridge during the day.
Did you go to work when you were doing this?
Re: Pokes toes into 3rd tri- 24 hr Urine collection?
Wow.. I had high BP at my last appointment so I wonder if this will be in my future too.
Were I you, I'd call off for that day.
I have to do one every two weeks. I do it on Sunday and drop it off on Monday.
I am on 200mgs of Labetalol and my BP is totally stable now. I have PIH/Pre-e.
What meds are they talking about starting?
I once had a picture until the trolls showed up.

"If we weren't all crazy we would go insane."
I did it at 28 weeks when I spilled a little protein (turned out to be a UTI) and had borderline high BP (I think it was 130-ish/85-ish).
I worked from home. I really, really can't imagine dragging a jar of urine around work. I mean, it's gross (!!) to keep it in a communal fridge and I wasn't about to bring in a cooler.
Your other option would be to do it Sunday and bring it in Monday morning (not sure how urgent they consider the results to be).
