Is he 3 yet???

OMG, Charlie is being an absolute terror today. I think he woke up too early, he's also refusing to nap, so I know he's just way overtired but AAAAHHHH.

He is having a tantrum over everything. We're baking cookies & he pulled the bowl off the counter & took a handful of dough. He keeps curling into a ball on the floor, screaming & crying saying "Go away Mommy!". He painted the kitchen floor (and knew he was doing something bad because he looked at me the whole time). He kicked the train under the tree, threw a ball at the Christmas tree, ripped the gate off the stairs to get to the train I put there out of his reach after he kicked it, he's kicked me a few times...

This is not the fun & relaxing day I was hoping for. He's watching a movie right now, I'm hoping he passes out on the couch :(

Re: Is he 3 yet???

  • aw, sounds like you are both having a rough day. Hope he naps for you soon, and that he wakes up in a better mood.

    Does the "you need to be good, or Santa won't come" not work at his age?! ;)

  • Lovely mood he's in today. Sorry. {{Hugs}}

    FWIW - every mother has told me that 3 is much worse than 2 (hard to believe, but I've seen it happen). I personally am just waiting until Ian's 30. Then maybe it won't be so bad.

  • Aww. I'm sorry. I hope he naps and then wakes up in a better mood for you.

  • Don't be so quick to wish for him to be 3 - it's worse than 2, at least in both of my experiences.  Hopefully it's a different experience for you.

    Sorry you're both having such a rough day.

  • ugh I'm sorry. I hope he passes out for you too.

    my friend told me yesterday (when I was having a day like yours) that once they hit 3 they are better. At that age they can communicate their needs to you more and there aren't as many tantrums.

    Hang in there. Tomorrow is another day.
