Im trying to create a schedule for the M&Ms b/c right now we take it as it coms and thats driving me nuts!!! Please share your schedules with me so i can get an idea of what to expect w/ 6 wk olds
we followed baby wise from day 1... so they were on about a 3 hour rotation of sleep/eat/play - though, in the early weeks there is not much play - it's mostly sleeep/eat/sleep.
7am bottle... then some awake time... then nap.
10am bottle... awake/nap
1pm bottle awake/nap
4pm bottle awake/nap
7pm bottle awake/nap
10pm bottle- swaddle and put to bed... in early weeks we fed them every 3 hours at night (1am and 4am)... but around 6w we started to let them sleep as long as they could - and they dropped one bottle and only ate around 3pm... then slept until 7am.
then at 8w they dropped the 3pm bottle and STTN from 10:30-7am. Then around 4.5mo we dropped the 10pm bottle... and now they go to bed around 7:30-8pm and STTN until about 7am.
the schedule would vary a bit if they slept later, etc- but only around 1/2 earlier or later -they really are "time keepers" as we always say to them. they know when it's bottle time and let us know.
At this age it is going to be on demand for them not a schedule. I know it is really hard, that was hard for me as well because I like to know what to expect next or do at the next time, but you have to take it from them for a little while longer. Mine started to fall into more of a routine at about 12 weeks old (8 weeks adjusted). Before that I just made sure I put them down for nap before the 2 hour mark, for my smaller twin she went down usually about 90 min. after waking from last nap, she couldn't get to the 2 hour mark until she was almost 4 months old. This is key because they will not become overtired throughout the day and they will then start to sleep better and longer at night.
At 12 weeks we started putting them down to bed at around 6PM and they got up in the morning at around 7AM (depending on when they got up for their feedings during the night).
7AM (or so, this varied) - Wake up, change then feed, play time on the activity mat, then tummy time 45 min. after eating or they spit up.
8:30/9:00 - Change diaper then put down for first nap, usually slept for about an hour or so.
10AM - Wake up from nap, playtime on activity mat or swing time.
10:45-11AM - feeding and diaper change for nap
11:45/12PM - Down for second nap
1:00 - wake up, activity time including some tummy time
2:30 - feeding, diaper change
2:45/3:00 - down for nap
4:00 - Wake up, playtime with DH (when he got home from work)
5:30PM - dress for bed, feed and in bed by 6PM usually depending on how the naps played out during the day. 5:30 was usually their breaking point of the day and you could tell they were just done for the day. It was really early, but once they were in bed DH and I could have dinner and relax before crashing for the night.

then they sleep as long as they want. my problem is sometimes we have to REALLY wake them during the 12:30 feeding and they barely eat and then they wake at like 3 to eat again but oif they eat at the 12:30 they wil do til almost 6 am sometimes. I feel like im doing something wrong? Then to top it off they are on different sleep schedules when one is awake the other is passed out. For instance my DD slept through hsalf of the 12:30 feeding and had to be woekn to play now is screaming for no reason and DS ate well and played and now is falling alseep but at 3:30 roles willreverse... ahhh
