Geeky, do you have a medical background prior to med school?
I'm curious. I've toyed with the idea of med school instead of grad school. Or being a midwife, or NP and midwife.
GAH!!
geek, gag me!! the mcat is my achilles' heel. well the physical sciences that it. ugh ;-P
peanut, you don't need a medical background perse. you need to complete the prereqs with good grades, get a good score on the MCAT, and have appropriate exposure to the profession (e.g., volunteering or paid work) to be able to articulately state why it's what you want to do and to show dedication to this path. and good letters of rec

yup, I've known theatre major's that went to med school. They ended up failing out, but maybe they just didn't enjoy it after they got in...

I guess I was more curious as to what drove her to med school. I know she was toying with midwifery as well. Just wondering her background prior to med school.

Is this a dig at me? I've said multiple times here that I've got a theatre degree.
It's a long story, Peanut. I was actually interested in science or medicine before I got into theatre in high school and college. For awhile I thought that's what I wanted to do, but by the time I was in my last semester, I didn't enjoy it anymore at ALL. I should have just changed my major then, but I was burnt out and just wanted out of school. Big mistake on my part, but working in a hospital since then has pulled me back into it.

You're not the one that said anything about theatre majors, though.
