Possibly dumb underwear ? (boys)

DS is 3.5, but wears size 4 clothes.  He currently has size 4 underwear with characters that he really loves.  I noticed they are getting tight on him so I went to buy more in the next size, but it seemed like the boys underwear at my local Target jumped from size 4 to size 6.  Is that right?  They also didn't have anything with characters, just plain blue, gray, etc.   

I know he's on the bigger side, but he's not huge or anything (38lbs and maybe 42" or so).  Any suggestions for underwear that at least has cute designs or something in these sizes?  It seems like I should know this, but I'm going to blame it on the fact DS has only been potty trained since August.

KOHLS has a ton of character underwear.  The 4 is bigger than a 4T, and I think there's a size 5?  IDK, but kohls has a TON of character underwear in large sizes (even in adult sizes, which is kind of awkward)

Ditto on Kohls.  I was there yesterday for underwear for DS, they had lots of character ones in bigger sizes.
