Success after IF

My house is a death trap

Jacob has only been crawling for a little over a day and I'm already thinking that he's going to hurt himself pretty darn soon.  We have gates and outlet covers, but man do we need to do a LOT more!

Just today:

-he took 3 headers into the hardwood floors (he's still not that steady with the crawling)

-crawled into the closet and put a sneaker in his mouth

-pulled a flashlight out of the wall, turned it on and put it in his mouth

I really wanted him to crawl, but he's going to have to be watched like a hawk now!

  • Oh geez.  That's what I have coming down the pike, huh?  Sounds like he's really active!

  • Wait until he pulls to stand...just today, I was in the kitchen, trying to distract DS with toys while I did some things.  Apparently they are not nearly as interesting as what I was doing - he was in the fridge with me, trying to pull DH's beer out, he was pulling to a stand on the dishwasher while I was trying to empty it, he was pulling to a stand on the oven, then licking his reflection in the glass, then he managed to get the cabinet lock off of the cabinet in the living room.  I am exhausted from chasing him around all day!

  • After Brady got mobile I was always wondering why I had wished for that to happen for so long! We ended up carpeting over our hardwood floors in the living room because when he started pulling up it was a disaster. We figure we can just pull them up again once the boys are older and not falling down all the time. Good luck!!
