I set up a consultation visit with an RE for December the 18th.....needless to say, I received the packet of information over the weekend and feel overwhelmed. I spent a couple of hours this morning calling my OB/GYN, PCP, and Endocrinologist requesting that they fax my medical records to the RE by Friday of this week.?

I read all about IUI and IVF and donor eggs and donor sperm and how fertility begins to decrease in our 30's AND my head is spinning. I've completed most of the questions requested of me and now DH needs to answer his questions so we can mail this in. It scares me a little and I'm just going in for a consultation.

?I felt a little depressed last week...actually the week of Thanksgiving after getting AF. The PLAN according to my OB/GYN??is that if I'm not pregnant by March (annual exam) that she would then prescribe a follicle stimulating RX. She would also put me on progesterone once I called in with a positive HPT. I don't know that I want to wait till March. After going through 2 losses in 13 months and being diagnosed with a Prolactinoma in August, I want to make sure or at have a second opinion agreeing that this is the way we should go to minimize our chances of going through another loss. DH and I are both 38.

?I just wanted to pat all of you on the back and encourage you, as well. I hope that this time next year most of us will have healthy babies in our arms or expecting the arrival of one.??

I think it's great that you're getting a second opinion from an RE. If I could go back and start over, I'd skip treatments with my OB/GYN and go straight to the RE. The way I look at it, RE's are for making babies, OB's are for delivering. Good luck!
