mother effing new oven

So, according to the manual, before I use it.  I am supposed to let it run for an hour at 400 degrees.  I guess to get off all the residue they used in making the damn thing.  With the windchill it feels like minus 26 out.  Nevertheless, I took the kids and cats upstairs open the freaking patio doors and windows in kitchen. Turn on the freaking oven.  It gets up to like 200 degrees and the most noxious smelling fumes starting coming from the damn thing.  It was smoking a wee bit, too.

I had to turn off the effing thing like 5 mins into the cleaning cycle or I thought for sure we would die from some sort of inhalation poisoning.   

FML.  I wish I could clean it with some baking soda/vinegar action=(

Do you have a fan above your stove? I turn that on full blast when mine is cleaning.

Boo!  That sucks!!  I can't handle oven fumes.

I had that on full blast, too!  If it wasn't so cold, I would just take the kids outside.

I too am scared of the smell. I have shut it off 2x and know it needs to self clean. The gas oven scares me the worst (we have 2 ovens one gas one electric).

I am super scared about the smell now.  I just read what they use to coat the inside of the oven. F*ck.  Like, I may have to wait until it warms up here so I can take the kids outside and open every window in the house.

thank you love.  that was from last January.  I can't believe he is turning 3.  sniff sniff  my big boy!
