Updates:  Had my 36 week appt on Friday.  Everything looked good. I am now almost 4cm dilated and 90% effaced.  The contractions are a bit more consistent but not too strong and not timable.  My OB seems to think this might be the week, I guess we'll see.

We did Cocalo Alphabet Soup. I thought it worked well for a boy and a girl

Update:  Thankfully, nothing.    I continue to have Braxton Hicks, but no major flare ups...nothing like I had last week. 

Answer:  We just had friends over last night for a painting party for the nursery, it turned out great.  The walls of our very small nursery are lime green and we have a dark brown carpet with green and beige ovals.  The colors we are going with are lime green, espresso, and white with touches of blue here and there.  The cribs will be espresso and white finish, the dresser will be white and we put up 4 white floating shelves on one of the walls.  We won't have a "theme", but we bought this print for the room, which incorporates all the colors:

Hmmmm I agree with pp about IKEA, but the bedding an accessories are going to be Classic Pooh.  We have a few items from excited grandmothers already.

Update:  C-section scheduled for ONE week from today on 1/14/09!!  I can't wait but am a little nervous and just want healthy babies!!

Question:  I posted my nursery pics a while back.  I really wanted pink and green for our girls (those were our wedding colors) We went with a combination of CoCaLo Ellie and Bella which is pink and green elephants.  I love it and it was not crazy expensive since we did the Ellie bedding (sole as separate pieces, not full sets) and Bella accents.  I was very happy with how it came out.  We also went cheap in that we got IKEA cribs, used DH's childhood bookcase, and my childhood dresser, and bought a used changing table on craigslist.  The most expensive thing in the room is our HUGE leather rocker/recliner.

Update: 30 week U/S last Friday - Baby Boy A is 4lbs 3oz and Baby Boy B is 3lbs 9oz.  Both looking great!

QOTD: No theme to the nursery - the walls are green and I painted their names blue and hung them over the cribs....other than that nothing too much going on - don't have everything in there yet.

We saw the heartbeats this morning (yay!) so we are on our way to being out of the woods. I still can't believe this is all happening and I am almost 7 weeks (unfortunately we never made it this far with any of the other pregnancies except DD). We haven't started to think about the nursery yet - a lot depends on the gender of the babies. I'm thinking green and brown if it's b/g and something more specific if it's same sex twins.

update: nothing new. hate being at work today after laying around all weekend.

QOTD: well right now our theme is "storage room for all the crap we need to get rid of in order to make room for babies". The walls are a pretty sage green and the carpet is cream/light beige. We'll have mostly light wood furniture in there, with the exception of the changing table that someone gave us, which is white. We are currently in a power struggle to decide how "girly" vs. "boyish" the room will be - I have the feeling that the theme will include both monkeys and flowers! hopefully if it's all the same color scheme it will work.

I replied in a previous post that I had a sudden urge to wash our walls, floors, and doors in our bedroom last night (where the girls will be sleeping for a while).  This morning I'm pretty sure I lost some mucus plug.  Not too worried about going into labor now though because things have progressed so slowly with me in the past.  I was already 4-5 cm when I had to be induced with my 2nd!

Our nursery doesn't really have a theme, but I did pick out the fabrics for our quilts, bedskirts, and curtains and had them made.  Kind of a shabby chic floral look with pinks, purples, and greens.  The walls were already pink when we moved here (which wouldn't have been my 1st choice, but good enough!).  I have a memo board that's a pastel map of Paris (I was a French major).  A cute green wall hanging with knobs that look like old glass doorknobs.  Still nothing above their cribs because we're not 100% on names and I just haven't found anything I love.

Could you add me? I am due June 9th, but due to velamentous cord insertion on Baby A, will have to have c-section before May 5th.

We got two guesses from both the perinatologist and regular OB that they were boy/girl, but won't know for sure until the 18th. I am thinking of doing chocolate brown with blue and pink circles. I still have awhile though!

Update: Amnio tomorrow morning, absolutely terrified about that, more the results and complications afterwards than the actual procedure itself.  Trying to think positive though and cannot wait to see the twinlets on u/s again  

 

QOTD:  I love everyone's nursery themes and ideas, so creative and fun   As I have said previously we will not have a separate room for our twinlets so they get more of a corner of our room for now.  DH bought a portable crib last weekend from BRU and also two snuggle nests for when they are newborns.  So right now greens and browns in those two items, our bedding is green so it works so far.  I think I will get creative with shelving and maybe buy one dresser in dark wood to watch the portable crib for their clothes.  So much fun

Update: I have my first OB appt on Wednesday, I was being seen by my RE up until now.

Nursery Theme: No idea yet! Probably will come up with something once we find out what we're having! I do like the simplicity of the IKEA cribs and some others that are streamlined. Other than that, not a clue as to what we are doing!

new update: my c-section was changed to Jan 15th since the 18th is MLK Day and they won't schedule on a holiday. I still have a gut feeling that I won't make it that long, and my doctor agrees!
