what things should i get done?
help me out...should I get all my womanly needs taken care of such as shaving, pedi, hair, and nails?...waxing?
should i just go in , "as is"...lol
what should be set up when i get home?...im getting the car washed....
i guess ill have all the laundry done....
..if you had the time to "prepare" for birth, so to speak, what things would you do?
Re: what should i do before my induction?
I'd probably make sure that I had the fridge/pantry stocked and a couple of meals ready to go (either in the freezer or having ingredients on hand).
I'd also probably make sure I was stocked up on things like toothpaste, toilet paper, laundry detergent, etc--I have a feeling that I might not want to run out to the grocery store for awhile!
* I'd clean the house & get all the laundry done, so it's not piling up too bad once we get home from hospital.
* Stock up on groceries b/c who wants to go to the store with a newborn or sore crotch! LOL! (B/c all DH would come home with honey buns & frozen pizza, LOL)
* maybe shave the lady parts a few days in advance so it's not itchy when you are all sore down
that's all I can think of...
PS: sterilize all bottles & stuff
don't forget to take out the trash - all of it.
Clean your toilets.
Grocery store - get lots of good snacks that you can eat one handed - string cheese, granola bars, etc...and things that Dh can easily cook.
Target run - stock up on TP, paper towels, soap, anything you are running low on. Also, stuff for you - pads, Tucks, nipple cream, a comfy pair of pjs or yoga pants, sports or nursing bra...
Trip to salon - pedi, hair cut - would be top of my list
Laundry done and put away
Car wash and interior detail
Clean sheets on the bed
House picked up
Take the trash out last thing before you leave - don't want to come home to a stinky house!
Buy stamps for birth announcements, print your address labels for birth announcements.
Sounds like you are going to have a busy week!
I would take care of the "womanly needs" just before going to the hosptial.
I would rest and watch movies on the couch while vegging out. You will not be able to do this for a long, long, time;)
Laundry
Send dh to grocery store
Make sure pnp or bassinet is set up
pack your, dh, and lo's bag.
I've not been there before, but it were me, these would be on my list:
- clean house (or have someone do it)...nothing worse than coming home to a messy place.
- fresh linens on the beds, etc.
- baby's room or sleeping area ready to go (bassinet, crib, etc.)
- diapers and wipes, etc. stocked for once you're home with your LO
- stocked freezer/fridge/pantry
- any last minute errands finished (Christmas cards, bills, etc.)
- carseat installed and inspected
- pet sitter (if you have pets you're going to be away from for a couple of days)
- plants watered/lawn moved (if necessary)
- laundry done (again no one wants to come home to chores!)
- date night with DH

PSA about shaving: my hospital told me not to do any shaving (of the lady bits) up to 2 weeks before the date because of the possibility of infection.
Mani/pedi - I would love to do this, but I have the 3 year old allllll day long (my DH works 12 hour shifts), so I won't be able to do this before my c-section on Friday
