Zhu zhu pets have high levels of toxins?

Those that bought them are you still going to give them to dc? I am scared to give them to her and spent over 200 on them on ebay. So I can't return them either and they didn't recall them yet. My dd's health is foremost and she wants them VERY bad. I am torn because there are conflicting testimonies saying they are not bad. UGH!

  • I'm still giving them to them.

Then again, my kids sippy cups are not BPA free either.

I don't know why, but the BPA thing made me  LOL. Good morning, Jodi!

ETA: Heidi - antimony is found in everyday things, such as batteries, children's clothing (flame retardant) and even some medications. As long as Giada doesn't put them in her mouth, I really think it would be okay to give them to her.

  • my kids are still getting them.
  • Are you going to seal your children in a zip lock bag with them?  If so, I would be concerned.  Seriously, I think a lot of this crap is overblown, then again, I would probably be smart enough to be worried if I had not lived in a house with lead paint as a kids.

Joebunny, I really don't consider myself as an extremist but it is all over the internet and TV. I wasn't thinking too much into it until today I already got a call from my mother (who is giving them to her and is questioning it) and my aunt bringing it to my attention. It is scary!

  • DD2 got them for her birthday in October.  She and DD1 didn't even like them...played with them for a grand total of about 25 minutes.  But DD3 has been known to have the little bugger in her mouth.  I'm not overly concerned, but it's just another reason (besides the fact that my kids don't play with it) to get rid of them.  So you paid $200 on ebay huh?  Hmmm...maybe I'll list ours.  We have all of the stuff to go with it.

Believe it or not but I spent 116.00 on 4 hamsters (I am nuts but fell for it); car was 40; tubes were 40; wheel was 40; and I bought one other hamster to give to the giving tree and spent 28 on that one to give to a child and surprise them. So I actually spent a pretty penny on them and didn't even get it all;(

I think I am going to give her them.

  • Yeah I'd plan to give them to her as long as there's not a recall before Christmas.  And she'd not going to be putting them in her mouth so no big worry there.

That was really sweet of you to get one for the giving tree.  Some kid is going to LOVE it:)
