We usually get my son matchbox/hot wheels/Cars movie cars for his stocking. I always get each kid a sheet or two of stickers or trading cards (my kids both like Pokemon and Star Wars), sometimes a windup toy, maybe a small stuffed animal. I usually aim for 2 toys, 2 art/craft/sticker thingies, fruit or crackers, an orange, and some candy.
My DS isn't quite 3 yet, but for his stocking so far we have:
New toothbrush, socks, a Cars puzzle, craft scissors, M&M's in a tin, lacing beads (IF they'll fit in his stocking).
I'm going to the Dollar Tree today to look for a few more things. Some stickers and craft/art things, stamps, coloring books, etc.
He's getting a big Play-Doh set, so maybe a couple of extra tubs of Play-Doh for the stocking too. Probably some edible treat too. An apple and some cookies, maybe?
**We never got stockings growing up, so I tend to go a little overboard with DS's! LOL.**
DD's will have Sesame Street toothbrush, Thomas toothpaste, socks, altoids (she loves them), 1-2 match box cars, stickers, temporary tatoos, cheddar bunnies, markers, pad of paper, craft scissors and a small stuffed animal on the top. And by tradition, there will be an orange in the toe of the stocking.

A yo-yo that always comes back up (Target check out lines)
CARS stickers.
Slinky
oranges
small animal figures (he's into dinosaurs)
CARS hot wheels - Luigi and Guido
(check out the dollar bins at Target - TONZ of stuff there and in their holiday section there's a whole row of stocking stuffer stuff)
Our IF journey: 1 m/c, 1 IVF with only 3 eggs retrieved yielding Dylan and a lost twin, 1 shocker unmedicated BFP resulting in Jace, 3 more unmedicated pregnancies ending in more losses.
Total score: 6 pregnancies, 5 losses, 2 amazing blessings that I'm thankful for every single day.
