Attempting a grocery shopping trip...dumb question

Do infant car seats lock onto the front part of the shopping cart?  I often see people with their car seat sitting on the cart, but does it actually lock into place like it does on the base?  I have Graco Snugrides

 Thanks!

  • I think depending on the cart, the seat might snap in.  I also have the graco and found that it did snap in.  Good luck!

  • The latch hooks on to the seat, but not securely. I prefer to use the stroller and drag the cart.

  • I use the stroller and drag the cart partially b/c I have an older 3 year old but mostly for safety...even locked in it worries me

  • I just use the stroller and hang recycleable grocery bags off the handle and fill those...and use the under part for waters, juice, etc.  Good luck!
  • sometimes it will- it depends on the seat and the cart.  I was always able to put one hooked in up top and one in the cart when they were in their infant seats.

If I needed to do a full trip, this is what I did.  Once you get 2 carriers in the cart, there's very little room for groceries.  Now, we only do really quick trips w/ the stroller and a basket.  The boys are not as easily amused by being in a different place and start protesting about 10minutes in.

good luck - proud of you for attempting the trip.  Lots of MoMs are frozen at the thought, but you gotta get out!

Thanks for the tip!  I'm sure I'll be figuring it out as I go along.

Haha, I'm a little anxious about it but what's the worst that'll happen??....I'll look like an idiot mom who doesn't know what she's doing!
