I really need a coat that is WARM (down maybe), but is not too puffy and bulky. My reg coat isn't warm enough and my down coat is so bulky I feel like the stay-puffed marshmallow man. I need help please!!
You could try North Face coats. I wear a few LLBean down jackets and they are super warm and not bulky. When I called customer service I told her I wanted a non-bulky coat that I could use if I had to be outside for long periods of time, she asked if I was a hiker , lol. I told her I have playground duty at school and I was tired of being cold. She fit me for a perfect coat. It is a great, warm down coat.
I love my LL Bean jacket. Got it years ago and now have similar jackets for the girls. (Mom gets them a new one every Spring when they go on sale after the winter for the following winter.) They have Thinsulate in them so they're not all bulky but are nice and warm.
Re: Recommend your WARM and not bulky coat
This is what I have right now for my main winter coat:

I also have a wool J Crew coat that is pretty warm - they use thinsulate in them.
