I was wondering when you know to stop using the sling in the baby bath. We have always used it but DD is 2 1/2 months old and I am wondering if we still need to use it. Thanks!
When the umbilical cord stump falls off is when you stop.
huh? Maybe i'm lost... we have the newborn to toddler first years tub and i'm pretty sure the sling part was supposed to be until they are bigger than a week old... we still use ours....

Have the same one. It is to use before baby can be submerged into water, before the stump falls off. That is what my directions read.
I waited until DS could sit a little better on his own - I would just put the sling inside the baby tub and fill it up a bit higher so he was more submerged.
I felt safer keeping him on the sling until he wasn't as "floppy"
We stopped after about 6 weeks. We were given this blow up bath pillow thing though to help support her so we use that now. I don't know how comfy she'd be in just the tub alone.
hmm, interesting... guess i didn't read the instructions on the tub!
That was 5 years ago that I bought mine. The directions may have certainly changed. I never even used our sling thing. I just always sponge-bathed and when the stump fell off I submerged my girls in the "infant" side of the tub. It's a great tub; love it! I think mommas should just do whatever they are comfortable doing.

I only used the sling until the stump fell off too- Bathtime is a lot happier for all of us when she can be submerged in the warm water- the sling does not work for this. She actually had her first real bath tonight, and didn't cry at all- big change from using that sling. Good riddance!
We still use ours and we will continue to until she can hold herself up a little better. The sling really makes bathing easier. She is more balanced in the swing.
