When you hear Tristan do you think boy...or do you think girl?

I think both. I can find the name feminine as well as masculine...

The only Tristan I think of is from the movie Tristan and Isolde. 

Anyways, I really like this name, for a boy...and for a girl. But we would use it as our boys' name.

I also think of Tristan and Isolde, which is kind of morbid and sad.  So I don't think I'd choose it.  I voted for Ian -- good name and you don't see it much!

Ya, Tristan doesn't have as nice of meaning as the other names which all have biblical meaning.

Tristan means tumult or sad...I'm pretty sure it is out! lol

I only think of a boy when I hear Tristan.  I believe it is a boy's name (From Tristan and Isolde) that some people are using for girls now.

I think of Tristan both boy and girl name. I have a friend that is a girl named that.

When I hear Tristan I think of Brad Pitt in "Legends of the Fall." Not a bad association there

I think of a boy, because my cousin's son is named Tristan and it's the only Tristan I know. But I would like it as a girl's name too.  My favorite name for a girl is Teagan which started as a boy's name, they're kind of similar
