I'm in a sticky situation. A friend of mine made Gabriel a Christmas stocking (I paid her). Well, she made it absolutely HUGE. It is so big that when it hangs on the mantle, it hangs over the fireplace part. And it is so big that it doesn't even hang like a stocking, it hangs like a huge piece of material. Granted, I should have given her dimensions, I guess. But still. I really want to take it in all the way around with the sewing machine. However, I am having a Christmas party next week and she will see it "altered," and I don't want to hurt her feelings. What should I do???
Re: WWYD?
Since you paid her, I'd ask her if she could alter it. You could use the excuse that you're worried about it catching fire since it hangs over the fireplace.....and offer to give her dimensions of how much you want taken in.
I agree with both ladies about involving her in the alterations...I think she'll take it better that way than if you were to change it and have her see it.
Do you have stockings for yourself or DH that you could give her as a size comparison?
I agree with the pp's. I think she will understand!
Your siggy pics is adorable!
GREAT IDEA!
If it's a fire hazard, she has to understand. Thanks ladies.
Thank you Lindsey! Jaxon is adorable!?
I agree with this. You paid her and you need to get what you paid for.
