I have been exclusively pumping for my girls and had no supply issues whatsoever for the past month and then....boom...I feel like I am ringing out my chest for every last drop the past day or so!?!
I had to be on a powerful med last week and was told to pump and dump (torture watching my liquid gold go down the drain! eeks!), so not sure if my change of supply has to do with that or not??
Anyway, anyone have any "tips" on how to up my supply? I used to be able to pump 60+ oz. per day and now I am getting about 5 oz. every 2.5 hours or 3.5 oz. every 3.5 hrs. (so about 45+ oz. per day).
I heard beer (brewer's yeast) and oatmeal help?? Anything else I should try?? I really want to keep my supply up/keep pumping.
THANKS!!
Re: Supply Q??
drink TONS of water - perhaps the meds you are on are making you dehydrated?
oatmeal - not instant- but the real kind...
fenugreek & blessed thistle helped me.
I think that the tea helps some. The best thing for increasing my supply is getting enough sleep. (I know that's almost impossible). Also pump immediately after you shower. I have bad days where I feel like I will never have enough milk and then my supply magically regulates. Also I don't beat myself up if I have to supplement.
Good luck.
