any recomendations for counselors in Mpls area?

I am still emotionally traumatized about my birth experience, and still struggling to move on. Does anyone have recommendations about a counselor to go see in the metro area? I would like to find someone who deals with issues of motherhood/parenting.TIA.

  • I don't have any firsthand experience with any counselors, but here is a website where you can search for someone credentialed.

You could also ask the hospital where you delivered or your OB/GYN for a recommendation.  HTH!

  • I saw a counselor after my miscarriage, and she is wonderful!  She specializes in "Reproductive Health Challenges and Perinatal Events" meaning all kinds of pregnancy related stuff.  She's great, and just 'gets it'.

She's actually in St. Louis Park, but only about 10 minutes from downtown Mpls.  Her name is Krista Post.  Her website is www.kristapost.com and has all of her contact info as well as additional information about her and her practice.

Good Luck, and good for you for seeking out help!
