I broke my big toe over the weekend and have not been able to walk very well since it happened (I tried crutches but was afraid I was going to break my neck with those). Luckily my in-laws have been watching DD while DH is at work and they have even made us dinner 3 nights in a row. Tomorrow is my first day back with her full time at home and I am a little nervous about playing with her and the running that goes along with a toddler. There is one episode of Sesame Street that we have on DVR that holds her attention for the whole hour but I don't want to rely on the TV. Any suggestions? We have play dough and lots of craft supplies but I am not sure how long that will keep her occupied and in one place. I also can't drive right now because of the toe.
Re: Broken Toe
Did you talk to the Dr. about a possible walking boot? This way, your toe is immobilized and the boot takes the pressure off your foot.
Two winters ago, I broke my foot and had a cast on and a boot. Wow! That was fun!
ooooh totally ditto the walking boot. i have one for each foot lol (from different incidents- ) and i could not have walked without them. so definitely look into that.
As for activities- hmm how about teaching her a holiday song- or do some music time/ dance time. Tires her out and you can be-bop in place. lol.
hmmm- how about teaching her duck duck goose with her stuffed animals? something that gets her up and active/running around/tiring her out and leaves you somewhat relaxed. (gisele loooooves running in a circle around her animals)
bubbles?
tea party?
