DH's sister bought ours as a gift and she raved about how it's all-natural and has so many places for DD to hold and chomp on. She shows little to no interest in it though.
She also bought us a baby sign language book. She gives such *awesome* gifts.

I ordered mine on Amazon last month and it got here a couple weeks ago. As soon as I gave it to DD she shoved it in her mouth. She loves it. I don't know why. I didn't want to give into the hype, but I'm so glad I did.

hows that sign language book coming along?
I flipped through it, thought it was probably a good idea if I was SuperMom and then proceeded to "lose" it.
I'm starting to wonder if DD is just too young for Sophie still.

Hmm we'd think those were awesome gifts. But then my kid is teething and we already sign with him. It's a shame you "lost" it. Kids can really benefit from learning ASL.

I'm sure many people would, and I have no problem with that. We just don't love them. We do appreciate that she sent anything at all though.
ETA: I know basic ASL and I agree that it's a wonderful thing for children to know. I just don't have the time to teach it to her now, which is why I threw in the SuperMom comment.

Yeah, but those ARE good gifts - she probably knows that like, 90% of kids actually DO love Sophie, and that since you know basic ASL, she probably thought you would be interested in passing along some of it. She DOES give awesome gifts. You obviously AREN'T appreciative.

Here is the website with the reasons that Vulli thinks it's a good product, but really, babies just love to chomp on her.
I think a Sophie and a Baby Sign Language book sound like nice gifts.
