penicillin?

my doc prescribed penicillin to me due to urinary tract infection is this okay to take while i am Pregnant i am 11 weeks as of today and i dont want to take anything that is going to harm my baby any advice ?

Does s/he know you're pg? if so, it's probably safe.

yes, she knows i am pregnant.. i am going to call my doc tomorrow morning to be on the safe side. thanks for your advice.

I'm guessing you told your dr. you're pregnant.  Your dr. will know to only give you pregnancy safe medicine if you are pregnant. 

 No offense but if you didn't tell your dr. you're pregnant and you let him prescribe you medicine, well, that's stupid.  I hope you told him!  If you did, it's completely safe!  He wouldn't give you medicine that'd hurt your baby, they put it in their computers when you're pregnant so they know to only give you certain meds.

I took penicillian for an infection also and it was safe...the dr. went over what medicines where safe to take and why penicillian was safe. But as far as the future as long as you told them/remind them of your being preggo it shouldn't be an issue they know what is safe and what isnt.
