Babies: 0 - 3 Months

2 month shots in two hours. I don't wanna.

They are doing them a little bit early here because there is whooping cough going around at the moment so the sooner babies are immunized, the better.

I've been nervous about these things for the past two days. I'm cringing just thinking about it! I'm not at all looking forward to her being in pain and I'm nervous about her having a fever or other side effects.  If you already went through this, how did your baby react?

The worst part is, she is the happiest little thing EVER this morning.  All smiley and cooing.  I feel so bad knowing that the dreaded shots are going to burst her happy bubble!

  • I went last week and the nurse told me it will be a cry that I've never heard before and to brace myself.  I just focused on holding DD's hand and rubbing her head.  She stopped crying after three minutes.  After a day of eating less than normal and sleeping a little bit more she was okay.  Good luck to you girls and your LO's!

  • We went to today and it wasn't near as bad as I thought it would be.  DD cried for about 6.7 seconds afterwards and was all smiles again after I held her.  Then, went straight to sleep in the car on the ride home.  So far, no reactions or fever and she's doing well.

G/L and hopefully your LO does ok!

  • We had ours today too!  The first shot made him do the open mouth no breathing cry.  The second one wasn't so bad.  After the shots I held him close and he quieted down and fell asleep on the ride home.  He has yet to wake up so we will see how the remaining evening goes.

  • My son had his today.  He threw up all of the one that went in his mouth and cried for about 5 minutes after his shot.  He has been sleeping since the ride home (about 2 hours now).  I think he did really well and will be fine.  You can do it!  She will be fine!
