Strange...how would that even work? Please go there and take pictures and post them immediately, this I have to see. I will also need to see pictures of the condition of the wall after she takes it down
Hahaha. I need pics so I can figure out how this works.
My roommates and I duct taped a branch to our dorm room wall my sophomore year of college because we didn't have room for a whole tree. We put ornaments and a star and everything on it. Somehow I don't think this is what your mom did though.
as a kid my parents would tie fishing line to the very top of the tree (there was even a whole in the top back of te angel's skirt, and attach it to a hook in the ceiling. It kept the tree from falling over when the cats would chase each other up the tree.
She has a cocker spaniel puppy and two dumb cats so I understand her need to keep the decorations away from them...but hanging on the wall? That was the best option?
I have requested picture evidence. I will share it as soon as I get it.
She said after she finishes decorating it, she's just going to take it off the wall and carry it to the basement so next year all she has to do is bring it up and hang it back on the wall.
I still don't understand how this is going to work because it's a freaking 6.5 foot tall pre-lit 3D Christmas tree.

I am literally sitting here looking at my computer with my mouth hanging open.
I am SO CONFUSED by this!
The only thing I can think is that she took down a picture and hung the tree on that nail. Maybe she tied picture wire to two branches and hung it that way?

So.confused!
Your guess is as good as mine. She's at work, so she said she couldn't go into much detail but that she put her Christmas tree up...on the wall. She said she'd call me later to tell me about it.
BUT, she does do picture framing, so she has the hardware to rig some type of hanger on the tree to hang it on the wall. I just have no idea if she did this and how. I hope to God she did something though, because I can just see her tree falling off the wall at Christmas dinner.

Okay so until you posted that I was thinking of the ones you see in the skymall magazine on airplanes. I had actually considered one when I was living in a teeny tiny efficiency apt.

But OMG that would be awesome!
What'd you do for Christmas CB?
Oh not much but a tree fell on us while we were eating dinner so there were no seconds this year!

Is it only 2D?
You know, like it's flat, like a picture?
Because what I see in my head it the tree sticking out from the wall like this:
-->>>>
(wall, then tree)
I would like to know how she rigged this!
My cats have been driving me nuts already, with their thinking that the ornaments on the tree are for ripping down and playing with!
No! It's a regular fake pre-lit 6.5 foot tall Christmas tree. I'm kinda dumbfounded.

Sorry I hit post too soon. Couldn't contain my excitement

I am near tears from laughing so hard. I am now DYING to meet your mother. She sounds awesome.

Maybe my mom's wall-tree will spark a tradition of putting up stupid Christmas decorations.
OMG I'm dying!
