A day or two after he was born, and I breast feed. He only likes the soothie pacifers, so far no nipple confusion.
I am BF'ing and occasionally supplementing with pumped breast milk and formula per the pediatrician's instructions. I think that sucking on a pacifier would soothe him to sleep but I don't know how long I should hold off on giving him a pacifier so as not to confuse him.
I BF, and we gave him one at 2 days old. He always just needed to suck on something...without it we got no sleep. He has had not nipple confusion, however I have to supplement with Formula at night because of a medication that I am, so he has also had bottles almost right away.
The night she was born. We figured out quickly that she just loved to suck. The nurse gave us a Soothie pacifier and we never looked back. I breast feed and we've never had any trouble with nipple confusion.
Re: pacifiers
1 Week and I breastfeed. We use the soothie pacifiers and had no problem with nipple confusion.

We started right away--and he refused to take it and still does.
We attempted to BF (my milk never came in) but even when he was still on the breast, he didn't seem to have any nipple confusion.

You will always be loved & missed our sweet angel.
We have Avent pacificers - any reason you prefer Soothies?
In addition to soothies, I would recommend gum drops. DD loves them!

I BF, and we didn't introduce the paci until 4 weeks (around the same time we introduced the bottle).
We like the Mam brand. We also really dislike the Soothies, as they have a heavier base and will fall out of LO's mouth more easily.
We've had no nipple confusion at all.
