Newbie Play Date - Flame Free!

Yes, can you please stalk my chart (I'm not sure it's linked properly)?  I've been charting to avoid since April but this is the first month of TTC.  FF put ovulation at CD15, but when I entered today's temp it took the ovulation crosshairs away.  I've had cramps the last two days and have flushed cheeks today.

How come if the sperm is there and the egg is there EVER month.... there's no baby in my ute????

From what I understand our bodies make it pretty hard on the sperm...from possibly hostile CM and a long way to swim to the egg that is hard to penetrate there are a lot of hurdles to go through...presumably to make sure only the highest quality sperm get to make a baby?

hmmmm, this is good info! Now I am hoping there is nothing wrong with DH little soldiers, lol.

I think the "ovulation dip" is somewhat mythical.  I rarely if ever have such a dip.  It's definitely not a given.  And unfortunately there's no way to predict ovulation.  You did start getting fertile CM so it might be on the horizon, but no way to say for sure.  Are you using OPKs?  I would recommend that if not.  Good luck!

Welcome, Michelle!  I think many of us felt intimidated originally, but you just have to jump in and speak up - you'll be a regular in no time!

Re: Hair removal discussion - Make sure you're using a new razor when you shave your hooha. A dull one makes all of those ingrown hairs so much worse. I've tried all of the creams, aloe, etc, but really the only thing that seems to make a difference is the fresh razor.

Anyone ever tried Magic Powder on their crotchital region? While it's meant for beards, it works like a charm with no itchy growth. You just gotta be careful to not get it on your actual lady bits.

I think FF has it wrong.  I think CD21 is your O date.  Looks like the first +OPK was a fakeout.  A few more temps and hopefully you'll get solid CHs.

So far it looks good   I would recommend charting your CM every day though.  Even if you find you have none, mark it dry.  Just make sure to mark something every day.  It will really help FF to pinpoint things.  I can't comment on timing because your BD line is not showing.  Can you share it for better stalkage?

I'm not using OPKs yet. I'll probably give it a few cycles before breaking down and buying some. I guess for now we'll just have to wait and see what happens! Thanks Gym!

If you're temping consistently, my guess is that you haven't O'd yet... hopefully soon you'll get those CHs back!

So have I, but either way it's ok I start clomid next cycle! I am awaiting for those SA results and still have not gotten a call back from RE!

For the itchy girl- try the banana boat aloe with lidocaine. Works like a charm. Also, the bikini zone gel works well, too.

 

I have a question. If taking antibiotics while on the pill can cause one to become pregnant by accident, will taking antibiotics while OFF the pill, assist in conception? AND- why does antibiotics affect hormone levels, etc. I ask b/c I returned from a trip with a nasty bug bite and I am on antibiotics right now. 

Nope, I don't think it works like that - antibiotics won't help you get KU.  The reason you can get KU by accident while on the pill is because they make the pill less effective - the pill is not regulating your hormones properly and you may ovulate as a result.

I've never heard of antibiotics affecting hormone levels though.  What have you heard about this?  I'm curious...

 

Well, I made an assumption. I just wonder if it makes "the pill" ineffective by messing with hormone levels. If not, how does it make "the pill" ineffective? I am getting too medical over here.

Your link works for me   I can see why FF took your CHs away since your temps have dropped back down.  Are you using OPKs?  I would recommend doing that and keep having sex.  The cramps could be ovulation cramps although I can's speak to them myself - I don't get them.

Do you think I really O'd on Friday or do you think FF just thinks it from me being sick ?

I really really really hope I didn't O already as I'm not too happy with the timing ( was hoping to go everyday this week as it "thought" I would O this Friday)

This is fun!

How come you get lets say watery cm after O?  I dont plug info into a chart so cant show ya, but I took temps this cycle to make sure my temp went up after the opk at some point and it went up to 97.7 (usual after O) and keeps climing. (about 7dpo today..af due fri) It is not watery for days, but on the same day of the temp rise, my cervix dropped too...I have a lot of creamy today. hope not stupid

Well I don't know the specific mechanics behind it but Dr. Google tells me that BCP get "activated" in the intestine and antibiotics kill the bacteria that activate it.  Not sure if that is accurate or not though.  If I find more info, I'll post it

It does look like it from your temps, but they could definitely be from being sick.  The missing CM data might be contributing too.  I would keep having sex just in case and keep up with the OPKs.  Good luck!

It's a good question - I don't know why some ladies get watery CM after O and why others are mostly dry.  Makes ya go hmm...

Not stupid at all   Here is some information from FF on the subject:

I know a lot of people do experience it so it's not super unusual.  As an aside, I would start plugging everything into FF if I were you - so much easier to keep track and FF can do all the work for you   Good luck!

Glad ya'll enjoyed my made up word. I actually use that rather often, but it's one that I wasn't sure you could "read" well in typing vs. hearing it out loud. I totally mow the lawn, but I can't really say that I go all of the way to the back door. I can't reach, I can't see, and I'm sorta lazy.

Assuming you end up with CHs on CD16 or 17, your timing looks great!
