Diet causing diaper rash?

I've changed diaper brands, tried several diaper creams, using only water to wipe, air dry, just about everything that is recommended.  We got a prescription for Nystatin and finally after a week of using, the rash was improving.  But I noticed on Wednesday that it was coming back, even though I hadn't changed anything in our diaper changing routine.  I'm starting to think it's something in my diet.  I read online that eating citrus/acidic foods can cause a diaper rash.  Anyone had to change their diet because baby was getting a diaper rash?  TIA!

Re: Diet causing diaper rash?

  • Dairy causes my LO to have blood in her stools, and I notice a rash when that happens, as well. I'm pretty sure the dairy also causes the rash. I've cut out dairy alltogether now.

  • If the Nystatin helps it might be some kind of yeastinfection. Carbs and sugars can contribute to these.

  • I just got my DD's diaper rash under control that she had since day 5. I change her often during the day, use Pampers sensitive diapers, and Huggies sensitive wipes. I pat her dry after wiping, put on Butt Paste (only things thats been working). I had to do this every day since the rash first appeared, which we believe started with me eating some queso.
