When I called to tell my dad our news, he took it upon himself to tell the whole world. It was my fault that I didn't tell him not to, but it was a quick conversation and I didn't get the chance to. I guess Aunts, Uncles, cousins and everyone already know. So much for trying to keep things quiet.

I just felt bad that my brother and sister didn't get to hear it from me directly. oh well, not much I can do now.

I don't see how people can tell a few and not everyone they know. I just can't trust my IL's to keep anything quiet, so I just don't expect them to. It does suck that you weren't able to tell your brother and sister. We are telling at Christmas with ALL of our family there. They will open the same gift at the same time. I learned from the 1st go round; I have to be two steps ahead of MIL.

This is exactly why we waited to tell my dad.  He gets really excited about things and tells everyone.  We told a lot of people before we told him and I am happy that we did because once we told him about 20 mins later he called me with a whole laundry list of people he told.

I am happy that he is excited and the people he told I am not close to anyways so I don't care that he told them.
