I'm 34 weeks and on hospital bedrest. The doctors came in to tell me today that they will no longer try to stop labor if it starts, and if my water breaks they will induce labor.
They also told me that I'm allowed to get up and walk around now. Anywhere I want in the hospital.
Does this mean that they don't mind if I go into labor?
I've never been pregnant before. Is it okay now to want to go into labor? I'm so tired of this bed and being 90 miles from my husband. Am I being selfish if I'm hoping to have these babies this week?
Re: 34 weeks
34w babies would still need the NICU... but would be OK--- as miserable as you are- i'd really want to get to 35+ weeks and avoid NICU all together because then you'll be miserable being so far from the babies if you have to go home each day and they are still there.... so try to keep cookin!
You have come so far- and are doing great- 34w is awesome!! You can do it!!!
Did you get a steroid shot?
I had a steroid shot and my babies were OK (no NICU) at 35 weeks, 1 day. At this point, every single day matters... I'd aim for each and every day.
Good luck, but congrats at 34 weeks!
You need to take it easy. Yes, stats are on your side and the babies will be *fine* if born at 34 weeks but you will still deal with the NICU and issues. I even got the steroid shots and my 34 weekers were still on vents
Yes, you are being selfish and you will be kicking yourself if you do deliver now and your LOs are in the NICU. I had a ton of guilt for having my girls early.
