So on Friday, DH was super excited to call his cousins in Germany to tell them the good news.  We've known for a while that 2 of them are KU and we were waiting for our first u/s to share the news.  So DH calls all excited and his cousin said "congratulations".  Apparently when their mother called my MIL about the cousins' pregnancies, my MIL spilled the beans.  Thanks MIL.  That wasn't your news to tell and you were told specifically to keep your mouth shut.  DH is pretty upset and really wants to confront her, but she's on vacation for 2 weeks.  I told DH to let it go because honestly, I expected this from my MIL.  And all this after she told us not to get too excited about the pregnancy because "anything can happen".  Sometimes I feel like my MIL is the mother from Everybody Loves Raymond.  ::end vent::

That stinks!  Way to steal your thunder!  DH should tell her that if she is going to continue to do things like that, then she will not be told anything until you guys are ready to tell everyone.

Ugh, that sucks.  Especially if you specifically told her not to tell.

I understand how you feel.  In-law's can be frustrating.  As soon as we got to my in-law's this weekend, my FIL came in looking at my belly like I'm going to be majorly showing at 12 weeks.  Later while eating out, we saw some of their old neighbors and my MIL said, "We're having a baby".  It was all I could do not to say, "no, actually, WE'RE having a baby.  You're having a grandbaby."  Unless you were there when our little bun was conceived, you don't get to say you're having a baby.  I know it's probably petty but in-laws can be super annoying.
