I have an appt to see an RE on Friday and my husband is a little hesitant about going and says that I'm moving through doctors when I don't like the outcome and should just stick with the one I have now. Do you agree? Here's what's happened...
In April I met with my old Ob/GYN and told her that I hadn't been ovulating and wanted to know what we should do since I wanted to get pregnant. She told me that since I was just starting to try that my husband and I should just try and try a lot since I didn't know when I'd O. I thought that was ridiculous advice and in September when I needed to get my yearly exam done I switched to a new GYN. He immediately did some tests and eventually found that I have PCOS. He put me on clomid at the beginning of this month and said call at the end of the month and let him know if it worked or not. Well it didn't work and I went crazy all month trying to monitor myself whether or not I O'd (Don't think I did) and felt like I'd be better off with an RE (based on what people have said on here and other reading I've done). I made an appt with an RE for this Friday. Since I want to keep my current GYN in the loop I tried to schedule an appt with them to follow up but they don't have anything available until Late Jan/early Feb. I don't want to wait that long so I am keeping my appt with the RE.
Am I doing the right thing or should I wait to meet with my GYN first?

I think you're doing the right thing! Clomid is a serious drug and you should be monitored - which I am sure the RE will do. Better to see an expert, since you have a diagnosed fertility issue.
Good luck to you! I'm trying with PCOS, too, and I know it's not easy.
It took 5 failed IUIs and a failed IVF, but our FET worked!

Thanks. I have a refill for Clomid but am not taking it. I don't want to "use up" my few chances with clomid before getting monitoring in place.
I guess I meant with keeping the GYN in the loop is letting them know I'm going to my RE and that the first month on clomid was unsuccessful... and then asking them to send my records to the RE.
I know all this stuff is making me a little crazy but I'm glad this isn't one example:)
