What has your baby been living in since he or she were born? Just wondering what types of clothes I should stock up with. I've heard that "outfits" aren't used much in the first couple of months, just mostly onesies, gowns, etc.
Personally I love outfits and dress Trent in them as much as possible. The first few weeks gowns were the best thing ever. You are changing them so much and the no buttons are a godsend. He is just over two months now and I would say we having been putting him in outfits for over a month.
So far its been onsies and sleepers. I have put her in an outfit but it was a onsie and pants. Its easier to change them without the pants so they ended up coming off after we took pictures!
Honestly Carter's sleepers, the button up sleeper things. I got soooo many at my shower and returned a TON of them and then I ended up going out and buying a billion of them after he was here. I should've just kept the ones from the shower! The sleepers are nice because they're "all in one" you don't have to do a long sleeve onesie, a pair of pants, AND socks, you just put them in the sleeper and it's all covered. And easier for diaper changes too. Rompers are convenient too, they're like onesies with long legs/pants that snap in the crotch, we have a couple of those too.

Sleepers and onesies. I love zip sleepers because they are faster, and easier at night when I am exhausted. DS was born on the 11th (almost three weeks ago) and was 7lbs 3 oz. He is still in newborn clothing, so we definitely used newborn clothes!
We use onesies at home and when we go out, I put her in dresses. I don't want to use pants right away because of her umbillical cord. The gowns don't work well for her because she kicks and pulls them down almost to her belly button! She was born at 7 lbs even and is now 7 lbs 2 oz and is in newborn clothing,. The 0-3's swim on her!
Gowns and sleep 'n plays. We only have 4 outfits that fit her so we save them for when we leave the house. We have a ton of 0-3 clothes, when she fits them it will be a different story.
The shirts that snap on the sides and diapers. That's about it. Now that's DD is bigger and she's eating more, her diapers leak a little more, so we've started putting little stretchy pants on her. But it's really convenient to have those shirts that button on the sides because babies spit up so much that you change them about three times a day.
Re: Question from 2nd tri
He lived in sleepers. (He is a March baby) Yes I'm on the wrong board.
We only had 1 0-3 outfit.
