2nd baby ?

My first baby was 9.2lbs born 21 months ago. I am due in two weeks and the doctor wants to induce me at 39 weeks. He thinks the baby is already really large. He said I am measuring on time from top to bottom but also measure around my whole stomach large.

My question for those who have two kids. Was your second baby larger then your first?

They can be off by up to 2 lbs. And inducing someone because they suspect a large baby (macrosomia) is a big no-no. It is not a medical reason to induce. Let your baby cook as long as they can.

Baby #1 - born at 37 wks, 7 lb 4 oz

Baby #2 - born at  40 wks, 7 lb 10 oz

 

A good friend of mine had a 10+ lb baby her first time at 40 wks, 3 days.  They induced her at 40 wks the second time for fear of a big baby (measured 9+ lb on u/s at 36 wks) but baby #2 was barely 8 lbs.

not what you want to hear... my first was 8.1 and my second was 9.5! Both born 40w6d, both girls. They didn't do any growth u/s or anything, but 2 different OBs told me they thought #2 was smaller. I knew she felt much larger in me and afterward they said mom is the best indicator on size. GL to you!

I do have a friend who just had her second. Her first was 9.2 born the day before EDD and she had a planned c/s at 39 weeks for #2. He was 8.5. Also both boys.
