Dryer Sheets?

When do you think you will start using them again and which ones do you use? When we were out of town, we did a load of mine and DH's laundry and a Bounce sheet was thrown in and now my skin keeps itching in my pajamas and I think that is why...

Re: Dryer Sheets?

  • I've used the Bounce Free ever since DD was born.  No scent or anything, but still Bounce softness.  I love them.  You're probably not used to it- it could very well be a small reaction.
  • Loading the player...
  • We just use a dryer ball.  I can't use stuff with fragrance.
  • We actually stopped using them altogether because they never biodegrade and just use dryer balls for everything now.

  • Oo, how is the dryer ball?? I've been wanting one but didn't know anyone who used it and was afraid to try it.  Is it just like the sheets?
  • we never changed dryer sheets. i use 2-3 with our clothes just b/c i'm anal about soft/good smelling clothing. with truett, we use 1/2-1 sheet depending on the load size.

  • Dryer sheets actually destroy the material on baby clothing that makes them flame retardant. They also coat your clothing with chemical substance and make towels lose their absorbency over time.

It's amazing how different your clothes feel when you stop using them. My clothing used to feel sticky, and now it doesn't. Now the smell of fabric softener or of Tide makes me get a headache.

I pour about 1/4 cup of vinegar into my rinse cycle, and my clothes are softer than when I was using dryer sheets.

  • I use Bounce Free

That's a whole lot of dryer sheets. lol My MIL does that and I can't be near her the smell is so strong.

  • I haven't used anything in any of our clothes since DD was born because she would have a reaction even laying up against our shirts. Our clothes are always so stiff, so I actually looked forward to having a load in a dryer sheet just to see how it did LOL. I might try the bounce free. How do the balls work?

I should have said I don't use anything in the dryer. I use All Free and Clear in the wash.

ok, we use all free & clear as well. have you ever noticed the smell? to me it stinks! this is another reason i use so many dryer sheets b/c to me, my clothes smell sour after each wash...no matter how fast i pull them out after the rinse cycle.

    This.

Try this - take a mirror, and rub a dryer sheet on it. That film is being left all over your clothing! It also clogs up your dryer vent. Someone showed me this - they cleaned out the vent, and then poured water on it while holding it horizontally. The water pooled in it like it was a bowl - not a screen at all.

We use the dryer balls and they are fantastic. NO static cling, and stuff is still very soft.
