One of my best friends just asked me to be a bridesmaid in her wedding approximately 2 months after my due date. I would really like to support her so if it seems at all possible I'm going to do it. Does this seems pretty doable?
2 questions:
1.) Any thoughts about how to have things run smoothly while I'm in the wedding? I'm planning to breastfeed if all goes well, so I'm thinking I'll pump some bottles for DH to use during the ceremony if needed.
2.) I have to give measurements for the dress in 1 month. I am 14 weeks now. Any advice on how to estimate measurements? I know everyone is different but I'm not sure what to tell them.
Thanks!
Re: In a wedding 2 months pp?
If you are breastfeeding you can pump some milk to use for the day but you will also have to breastfeed or pump during the actual wedding day at some point. Otherwise your breasts will get engorged and very painful because of missing feedings.
Give larger than normal measurements and find a good seamstress in case the dress is too big.
Pre Preg how are you with dropping weight? Do you work out? Are you working out now?
It's really hard to say what size your going to be bc you don't know how much weight your going to gain. You have to remember that they can only let out a dress 2inc without adding fabric. I don't know how much they can take a dress in.
This. Give at least 1 - 2 sizes larger than your normal pre-preg size, and have someone who can take it in for you maybe a week before the wedding. If your breasts have already gotten bigger, go with either the size you are now, or maybe 1 cup larger, and judge from that for the top, as since you plan on breastfeeding, your boobs will still be larger than normal, even if the rest of you goes back down to normal.
I am almost 2 months pp and I have a big work event this week that requires me to wear black tie.
I have built my BM stash and will have bottles ready for my mom to feed the evening of the event. I am also going to bring my pump so as to not get engorged as pp mentioned. Engorgement is awful so you will want to avoid this!!!
As far as your dress, I am back down to pp weight BUT my breasts are much larger and I have the post baby jelly belly. This means that clothes fit very odd in general. I would suggest buying a few bust sizes up for your dress and then waiting until a week or two before the wedding to get the dress altered.
Have fun!
Just wanted to comment on size because everyone is in fact different.
I gained 55 lb during my pregnancy (so stupid!) and am way bigger than I have ever been in my life. I usually wear a size 0 and 5 weeks pp I am in a size 8 still and my size S top is now a M or L due to the large breasts that come with breastfeeding (I had to go to Ann Taylor and buy new work pants and tops this weekend because I'm starting work tomorrow and had nothing to wear!). Just wanted to give the less positive side....not all of us are back in pre-preg clothes right away!
