Does your baby have colic?

If you LO has colic, have you found anything that calms?  I know people always say try taking them for a ride, but he HATES the car.  He cries all the time in the car.  He calms down with the vacuum, but we can't have that on all night!  Has your pedi said anything about it?  I'm not sure he has colic, but for the last 3 days he has been crying almost the entire time he is awake and not eating.  I don't think he is sick (no temp and no other symptoms).  Could this just be a growth spurt or something?  I'm in uncharted waters as my first son was a great baby and never cried.  I don't know what to do!  Thanks!

  • Ask your doctor for Levsin drops! They stop the stomach from spasming and really help the baby out.

  • If you go to i-tunes and search for a hair dryer, there is an hour long recording of a hair dryer (similar to vaccuum noise, obviously test it out first and see if your LO likes the hair dryer noise).  My DS doesn't really have colic but has some BAD fussy times where the only thing that works is to prop him in his boppy and turn on the hair dryer or the iPod with the hair dryer noise.  HE doesn't fall asleep but does get very calmed by it.

I second the itunes recordings.  I have the hair dryer one and it works very well.  DD will calm down with the vacuum, but falls asleep to the hair dryer.  The $9 or so I spent has been well worth it.
