BM question

When I put it in the fridge the milk seems to get "chunky" and thicken around the edges and almost curdle. Does this happen to anyone else? This happens when its been in there for only a 10-12 hours...I still use the milk, it doesn't smell like it's bad.

mix it up before giving it to LO it is just the separation of the Hind Milk with the Fore milk.  The thick stuff is the hind milk.  It is totally normal.

That's the fat. Just swirl it to mix it in. You can store bm in the fridge for a week.

It is very normal. It's just natural separation of the fat. If it's warmed up, it all mixes back together. Don't worry

I was curious about this, too.  I found this-- "Breast milk separates when it is stored, with fat floating on the top. This is not a sign of that it is spoiled."

thank you for your responses, I knew BM lasted for a week in the fridge so I wondered what was going on!! makes sense, I guess!
