Diaper Genie question

I just put together our Diaper Genie II and have a question.  Does anyone know about roughly how many diapers fit in there before you have to empty it?  It seems a little confusing with cutting the bag and all, and I am feeling brain dead at the moment.  I would love to hear from someone who has used one, how it actually works- how often you cut the bag and empty and how long one of those "ring" refills last. TIA!

    when the bag is full...it will indicate to you that it is....thats all i know

    when they are little..smaller diapers of course so they last longer. to tell you the truth I don't know how many "big" diapers fit b/c we quit using ours. all my hubby ever did was complain about emptying it and it was kinda a hassel. we just did like grocery bags. one of our friends used i believe it was called the champ. it is kinda like the diaper genie but doesn't use special bags. you can place any bag into it...good luck and hopefully you will like yours!

    Not sure since our little guy hasn't come yet but I saw a youtube video showing you how to use regular trash bags in it which would be cheaper.  We bought 1 refill and plan to use trash bags after that

     It's a video with a really annoying girl who chomps her gum, lol.  You have to buy at least 1 refill bc you have to use the blue ring.  She just shows you how to put the bag in it.

    This is on the diaper genie II elite but I think would be fine with the regular diaper genie ii which is what we have.  I don't think it would work with the first diaper genie since it twists the bags.  If you try it, let me know how it works!

    We have the diaper genie 2 and have been using it for 2 1/2 years now.  We love it!

    When you have smaller diapers you really dont have to change it that often.  Now that DS is wearing size 5 pampers we change it more often but I don't think that it is more than once a week.  (DH takes care of the empting of it and all other garbage)

    You will know when it is full when you cant put anymore diapers inside.  That is how we tell.  Once you cant push another one into it we cut the bag and tie it up and start again.

    It is really simple and im sure that you will love it too.
